Australia: "Yes, We Have Committees!"

Comment:

The Australian government has committees looking into y2k. It has reports. It has a Web site. The provincial governments also have committees and reports.

What Australia doesn't have is compliance.

Be sure that you click the button "OGIT Y2K Page" when you get to the Federal government's site. This will confirm the fact that Australia REALLY has committees!

(Note: Aug., 25: this link is now dead. Either they moved the site or else Australia no longer has committees. Probably the former.

This is typical. Governments are not what you would call on top of this problem. To create an entire y2k site and then allow the link to die is really, truly stupid.

If they can't keep a link alive, what chance do they have of fixing y2k?
