Here is a summary of the July, 1997, legislation:

The Nevada legislature isn’t gambling on Y2K lawsuits. The state passed a bill this summer which provides immunity to the state for claims arising from date processing errors. The measure says that "no cause of action, including, without limitation, any civil action or action for declaratory or injunctive relief may be brought under NRS 41.031…on the basis that a computer or other information system…produced, calculated or generated an incorrect date, regardless of the cause of the error." The same measure appropriates $1.57 million for the state’s Y2K conversion costs.
