Comment: 

This is a real letter from a real bank to its customers, i.e., its debtors. It reminds them of the threat of the century date change.

Also attached is a handy list of questions for corporate directors to ask management.

The potential business impact on an organisation is significant. In some situations, if not fixed or avoided, the Year 2000 problem will lead to the downfall of businesses or even human disaster. Directors and senior managers could face potential litigation if they trade in a fashion deemed reckless through the use of non compliant software or hardware. The problem needs to be addressed sooner rather than later as many of its potential impacts cannot be resolved a month or two prior to the millennium.
