A COMPUTER WORLD story (April 21, 1997) reports that there is no agreed- upon y2k plan for U.S. state agencies -- no methodology.
Only one-third of the states have completed the initial assessment: the first step in a long, long repair task.
One state official from Texas called y2k "a managed catastrophe."
New York State has budgeted $50 million. It is way too little, said one New York official involved in the repair.
Of course, this is only the United States, where there is more awareness than in other nations.
Other than this, things are fine! No problem!
